Plagiarism Policy

The act of presenting another person’s work as one’s own, whether intentional or unintentional. This includes, but is not limited to, copying text, figures, data, or ideas without proper attribution.

Guidelines:
 
  • Original Work: All submitted manuscripts must represent original research that has not been previously published or is not under consideration for publication elsewhere.
  • Proper Citation: Authors must cite all sources used in their work, including but not limited to:
    • Textual material
    • Figures and tables
    • Data
    • Ideas and concepts
  • Paraphrasing: When paraphrasing, authors must use their own words and phrasing while accurately representing the original source.
  • Quotation: Direct quotations must be enclosed in quotation marks and accompanied by a citation.
  • Self-Plagiarism: Authors may reuse their own previously published work with proper acknowledgment. This includes citing the original publication and obtaining necessary permissions.
  • Authorship: All authors listed on a manuscript must have made substantial contributions to the work.
  • Disclosure of Conflicts of Interest: Authors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest related to the research.

Consequences of Plagiarism:

 
 
  • If a manuscript is found to contain plagiarism, the Indian Journal of Basic and Applied Research may take one or more of the following actions:

    • Rejection: The manuscript will be rejected for publication.
    • Corrections: The author(s) may be required to revise the manuscript to address the plagiarism.
    • Retraction: The published article may be retracted if the plagiarism is severe or cannot be corrected.
    • Reporting to Institutions: The Indian Journal of Basic and Applied Research may report the plagiarism to the author(s)’ institutions.
    • Legal Action: In cases of severe plagiarism or repeated offenses, the Indian Journal of Basic and Applied Research may pursue legal action.
Review Process:
  • The Indian Journal of Basic and Applied Research editorial team will review all submitted manuscripts for plagiarism using appropriate detection tools and manual inspection. If any concerns arise, the author(s) will be contacted to provide clarification or address the issue.

Additional Considerations:
    • The Indian Journal of Basic and Applied Research may require authors to sign a copyright transfer agreement that includes a statement acknowledging the author’s responsibility for plagiarism.
    • The Indian Journal of Basic and Applied Research may provide resources to authors on how to avoid plagiarism.

    By adhering to this plagiarism policy, authors contribute to maintaining the integrity of the scientific record and ensuring that their work is recognized for its originality.
